The family of Amrutha Varshini cannot accept such shame. So the father of Amrutha Varshini looked for an assassin one month before their wedding, through a local political figure as a middleman, and paid $150,000 to murder his future son-in-law.
This murder caused different reactions. Some people came to his home to express their support and comfort, most of them Dalits, and even prepared a statuette for the young man to commemorate. But others stood on the side of Amrutha’s father.
